Service of Tenebrae (Good Friday)

*Tenebrae is Latin for “Shadows”. It is based on a twelfth-century late night/early morning service and is an extended meditation on the passion of Christ. 

*Throughout the service, elements of the altar will be removed, candles extinguished and lights dimmed to signify the grief and darkness we experience after the death of Jesus.
