What time are your worship services? We have one worship service on Sundays at 10:00am.
Where should I go? Our church is located at 419 S Park Ave, Sanford, FL 32810.
When you arrive, you can find our sanctuary entrance on the corner of Park Ave and 5th St. The main doors are open before the service, but the signs will point you in the right direction if the service has started and the doors have been closed.
Where should I park? There’s plenty of street parking on our block and around the park across the street.
What should I expect during worship? Our Sunday service usually lasts 60-75 minutes and includes traditional United Methodist liturgy, a diversity of musical worship offerings (such as traditional hymns, multilingual songs, gospel standards, modern contemplative music, etc.), an extended moment of communal prayer, a children’s moment, scripture readings, and a 15-20 minute sermon.
*We celebrate Holy Communion every 1st Sunday of the month and on special services including Christmas Eve and Easter. We practice an open table, so all are welcome to participate in communion, to learn more, please visit: https://www.umc.org/en/content/united-methodist-beliefs-open-table
What should I wear? You are welcome to dress comfortably and come as you are.
What if I have kids? Let a greeter/usher know and they will direct you toward the nursery (located on the right side of the church courtyard). Our nursery director, Krystal, will be there to sign you in. Childcare is offered from 8:30am-11:15am. Please sign your child in before the worship service.
- Infants are cared for in the nursery during Sunday School and Worship.
- Kiddos in Pre-K & Kindergarden-5th grade begin worship with us and the sanctuary and are brought to children’s church after the children’s moment (about 15 minutes into service).
- Middle & High school youth join us in the sanctuary for the entirety of the service.
Is there an ADA accessible entrance? If you are in need of ramp accessibility, please enter through the gate located on 5th St. After you enter, the ramp into the sanctuary will be on your left.
Are you welcoming of LGBTQIA+ families? We are proud to be a part of a denomination (UMC) that aims to practice full inclusion and affirmation of our LGBTQIA+ siblings. At First UMC Sanford, this means that you can expect to hear sermons, be led in Bible studies, serve alongside, and see families with a colorful variety of backgrounds, life experiences, and expressions of love.
